Brooke Summers is a brand new author to me and I was drawn to her book by the blurb. Now normally I’m not a huge fan of cartel and mafia books, don’t get me wrong I’ll read them happily, but they’re not the top of my reading list. I have to say after reading this book that Brooke really has some extreme talent, if anything I honestly thought that this was on par with Jessica Hawkins’ writing… that’s literally how incredible I thought this book was. Brooke has impressed me so much with this book that I’m super excited to see what else is in store for this series. I was hooked from the get go and honestly I’m shocked at how the events took place.
I can’t fault this book at all, I was shocked the entire way through, there was parts I just literally just ended up laughing at because it was just too funny and then other times I was that shocked I ended up shouting out at the book. This is seriously one good book and I would highly recommend giving this a try as it’s not like any other book, it is it’s own unique book.
The Gallagher’s and Bianchi’s don’t exactly see eye to eye, but when it’s arranged that Makenna is to marry Dante the eldest of the Bianchi’s (when she becomes of age) she’s not exactly happy about it, but she agrees to it as there’s no other choice.
Years later when Dante meets Makenna he realises that she is not the girl he first saw all those years ago, but instead is a fierce, strong woman and isn’t afraid to voice opinion. With they way they have both been brought up, it’s known that the woman is there just to be seen but not heard, however Makenna is changing the way things work and has a lot up her sleeve.
Will Dante go ahead and figure out what keeps Makenna so composed?? What will happen when certain secrets are revealed to Makenna’s father?? Will Dante and Makenna actually give into the chemistry between them or is their marriage just for show?
