Alice McAllister has her life pretty much planned out considering what she does most of the time is work, she hardly goes out. Other than when she is working she likes to spend the rest of her time in an quiet environment, but she's been like this since 15 years ago when she got divorced from her husband. Alice owns her own Solicitor's firm with her best friend Miranda but all of a sudden when Miranda forces her to go on holiday to her own holiday villa in Portugal but the one thing she is not expecting at all is that when Miranda's daughter Joy visits her world will be turn completely upside down.
Whilst Alice is in Portugal she is slowly starting to relax but then as soon as Joy turns up she can't help but notice that Joy is really outgoing and couldn't exactly care who watching considering most of the time she is hardly wearing much. The first thing that Joy does when she gets to the villa is automatically take of all of her clothes apart from a pair of bikini bottoms and this is when Alice first finds it quite awkward being around her as to her this isn't exactly normal in her world. Soon Alice and Joy start to get along quite well as Alice starts learning a lot about what Joy's been up to all these years and this is also when Joy reveals to Alice that she is gay but that her mom doesn't exactly approve of the idea but little does Joy know is that her mother would prefer her to be with a girl more of her own age instead of women who could potentially be classed as her mom.
Alice is starting to feel very comfortable around Joy but for some reason she can't seem to work out these strange little feelings that keep creeping inside of her every time she happens to see Joy's body. Soon enough after one night whilst they share a meal and Joy throws all of her cards out in the open and ends up kissing Alice, this sudden attraction that Alice might have been feelings towards Joy goes completely out the window as she just forgets everything that's happening. One kiss leads to another and by the next morning Alice wakes up in her own bed but when everything becomes clear she notices that Joy is beside her, as everything starts getting pieced together she honestly can't believe what she's done.
Joy manages to convince her that what they are doing is nothing wrong as they are both consenting adults, and whilst Alice is half convinced she still has a part nagging inside of her that to Joy this could be just a fling and that as soon as the vacation is over this whole thing between both of them will mean nothing. Over the next few days before Joy is meant to go back home things between them are flying high and they both can't seem to get enough of each other, even though in Alice's mind what they are doing is completely wrong. So when the day comes for Joy to go home Alice tries her hardest to talk to her about what's going on between them and when Joy says that she wants to continue this when they get back Alice is really unsure of what to do so she tells her that she will think about everything and then message her when she heads back home.
A few weeks after being back Alice is still unsure of what to do but after a family meal over at Miranda's house Joy persuades and shows Alice how much she wants to be with her and Alice gives into it all. Even though everything is good between Joy and Alice, Alice still finds it hard working with Miranda as she is sleeping with her daughter.
So a meal that was meant to be bringing everyone closer together goes terribly wrong, what will it take for Alice to get Miranda to forgive her for being with her daughter.
When I found out that Harper Bliss was bringing this book forward by two weeks I was so excited, and when I read it, I loved it. You won't want to miss this book as a lot happens in this book but trust me you'll be glad you would have read it to the end. Thank you Harper Bliss for yet another amazing book.
