When you pick up this book, you’re most likely going to think that this is pretty much Cinderella, in a way it is but at the same time this book is so much more. Bella Emy has taken a classic Disney story and turned it into her own. Now for me, I never expected that to be the case, for me sometimes it’s best to leave the classic stories alone, but Bella managed to take it one step further and make the book her own. I hardly expected any of the twists that she at me whilst I was reading this book and that made it all the more interesting and better. I was hooked and loved every minute of it. You can’t help but feel for Cindy because all she wants to do is finish University and then find a way to get out of there, but of course her Stepmother has other plans. Even though this is a standalone, I can honestly seeing Bella writing another book for Cindy because she was such an interesting character. Bella went out of her comfort zone with this book and managed to create a beautiful master piece, if you’re a fan of the fun, light hearted romance books that you’re used to reading then be prepared with this book as this is something else completely, but I strongly suggest giving this book a read as it’s well worth it.
Cindy lives with her two step-sisters and stepmother, you’d think that with her being an only child that things would work out a lot better and she’d become friends with them? And that with her father passing just a few years ago that things might be a little better for her….. That’s not the case for Cindy, with her nearly finishing University, she’s got her family causing her problems and making her life a living hell. She would escape now but the only thing that is keeping her in the same house as them all, is the fact that her father’s Diner is being completely run down by her stepmother. It’s the only thing she pretty much has left of him, so she’ll do anything she can to keep hold of it. She has such high ambitions in life and wants to get as far away from her family as she can, but with them constantly belittling her, will she stand the chance?
