When I first opened this book it reminded me of the Vampire Academy series, so I was expecting a lot as each book of Jessica Wayne’s I read, I feel that her writing improves greatly. So the fact that this had the writing style of Richelle Mead just shows that Jessica is just a talented author….. However, when I got a few pages in, I was completely thrown, what I originally thought about this book took a whole different twist and something I really wasn’t expecting or ready for. I don’t know where Jessica comes up with her ideas for her books, but seriously her mind is so twisted that I can’t help but love it. She had me on the edge of my seat whilst I dove into this short quick read, but honestly this book is only just the beginning for her new series A Cambrexian Realm….. I have no idea what to expect, but I do know that no matter what there’s going to be a lot of twists, turns and unexpected surprises. I honestly can’t wait to dive into the series properly and see what happens because I’m intrigued after only getting a small taste. Trust me when I say you’re going to want to pick this book up and dive right in, it’s the perfect book to pick you up from a book hangover.
