This book carries on from the first but this time we are looking at it from the prospects of Laney Sawyer and Ryder Capwell. Up until a year ago Ryder and Laney used to be together but then last year she walked out on him and now she swears off all boys, and anything to do with love. Now whilst Laney is being part of her Drama's class fundraiser auction the last person she expects to see is Ryder and when she does see him all her feelings for him come rushing to surface but she puts on a brave face whilst she is performing.
Ryder is completely shocked to see his ex girlfriend performing on stage, he knows that is what she is majoring in but it still comes as a complete shock to him. When Laney walked out on him a year earlier it honestly took all the light in his life away from him, he never stopped loving her and he still does love her. He would do anything in the world if it meant that he could be with her again. When he sees her on stage he can tell that all her feelings are still there as they both share a moment with their eyes locked on each other.
When the time comes for Laney to be auctioned off the last person she expects to win company with is Ryder, so when it becomes clear who bid for her she has no idea how she is going to control her feelings or actions. Afterwards when Ryder helps Laney escape from everyone to avoid all of the questions that were bound to be asked, he ends up taking her to his apartment, and at first they are just being nice and formal about each other but then after a couple of drinks of Whiskey things start to take a twist. They both end up in his bedroom with Laney thinking it's revenge sex and with Ryder thinking it's make up sex but little does Laney release that she is about to get a whole lot more than she originally bargained for.
Will Ryder ever be able to get the love of his life back or will Laney just completely push him away and stick with her vow of never being in love again with another guy....
I honestly enjoyed this book, you could feel a connection with each of the characters, it's like you were actually there inside each of their heads. Addison Moore writes amazing books that have a deep and meaningful story, I am looking forward to reading the next book.
