Most people know I’m not a lover a quick paced books, but sometimes there’s some authors that can change my mind just as long as they get the pace just right. JP. Uvalle released a short paced book a few years ago and whilst I loved the story, I found it to be a little too fast for me, but with this new book I’ve just read, I can see that her writing has grown and improved as she’s continued writing. With this book, she managed to get the timing perfect and I loved that, she managed to make me fall in love with the characters in the short amount of time that you get with this story, but seriously JP is talented. If you’ve not read her work before, you seriously should because she is incredible and knows just what to give her readers, like this book it’s the perfect book to sit and cosy up with on a cold winter’s day.
I honestly couldn’t fault this book, I found it to be an amazing read and honestly can’t wait for more. The characters are perfect and it makes you realise that sometimes true love can actually be right in front of you, it may take a little while before you realise but sometimes it’s literally just right under your nose.
Melody has been in love with Darren for years but she knows for a fact that he doesn’t see her the way he does other girls. I mean why would he? She’s his best friend and they do pretty much everything today, he even treats her like one of the guys. So you can see why he doesn’t. It’s Christmas eve and Melody has big plans to curl up with a book and stay in the warm, however Darren has other plans and convinces her to come out and go to a party with him. As the good best friend, she goes along even though she has this small feeling she should stay in but it’s one night she will never forget….
4 years later and the last person she expects to see is at her door…. Darren.
Will she be able to forgive him for what happened back on Christmas eve all those years ago?
