When I heard that Melanie Harlow was going to be doing another book that related to Man Candy I was really excited, I loved reading about Jaime and Quinn’s story, I honestly couldn’t wait to see what would be in store for Margot. In this book we see a completely different side to her and I love how Melanie has written it, because it shows that not all City Girls that you read about in books are all snottyfied or too sophisticated and know what’s best, Margot was such an amazing person and I loved her heart. Melanie puts her own spin on things and it works out pretty amazingly, I always love and look forward to reading her work because she is such an incredible writer. Whilst reading through this story I couldn’t stop laughing as the story was that good. Whilst I did love it I would still have to say that Man Candy is my all time favourite, but the only reason for that is because that story touched and reached out to me more.
Margot is a city girl and has no clue about things that are outside of her world, if she ever tried to do something that was deemed unworthy of the family name then her mother “Muffy” would have a say as to what was right or wrong. It was drilled into her head that she had to find someone, settle down and live her life as she was taught and expected of by Muffy. It’s just been over a year since she ended her relationship with her ex and all of a sudden he turns up at her house because he misses her and wants to marry her. Even though she has moved on she considers thinking about it, but for then to cause a scene the very next day at a social event. The control that she has managed to keep hold of for such a long time ends up disappearing and things get that bad that she gets sent by her month to leave the city until it has all blown over. The last thing she expected when she left town to do a job for the PR company that she runs with Jaime was to get her hands dirty, but that all changes when she meets the people who hired her.
Jack owns a farm with his two brothers, life used to be great as he had a wife and a future they were looking forward to until one day there was an accident. Ever since then his life has turned around and he went into a state of depression, his brother’s and sister in law try their hardest to talk to him but nothing they do works and he still doesn’t change. When he finds out that his family has hired someone who handles PR he doesn’t want anything to do with it and doesn’t want things to change, he is set in his ways but then you’d think that as soon as he saw her that he would be polite and breath taken with her... then you are wrong as he does the last thing that anyone would expect.... He walks out the door and ignores Margot. I would honestly tell you what happens but this book is pretty awesome and you will have to read it yourself.
