I’ve heard of Belle Brooks, and I’ve seen her name around for quite a while, I’ve just never actually picked up her work before and after picking up this book I can say that I’m now a fan of her work. I was captivated by the story and couldn’t help but be intrigued, I think that Belle did such a great job and that she should be proud of what she’s produced. A couple of things that I found not to my liking was that every now and then it just seemed like there was too much going on and that it would get a little confusing trying to figure out what was happening. The other thing was that you can see that there’s chemistry and heat between both Lane and Miranda, so I don’t get why there is literally only one scene when they actually are together properly, I understand that she’s meant to be a virgin but still, I just think it let the story down just a little because it would have been interesting to see how things progressed with them on the physical side on things. Other than those two things, I couldn’t fault the story at all as it was catchy and had interesting characters. I know that I’d be happy to pick up more of Belle’s work and read it and if you’ve not given this book a try then you should because it is well worth it.
Miranda is such a sweet girl, she’s doing her own thing and is out in the world getting her degree at college. Her day isn’t off to a good start after having the watch shop owner try and con her out of more money than necessary, missing the bus and not being able to eat some of the cake that she so desperately loves. With quick thinking, she grabs the first guy she sees and drags him into the cake shop so that she can try all the wedding cakes, but as fate would have it, it’s clear that she’s not going to get very far as they guy she’s grabbed ends up dashing out of the shop without his phone…. Her instincts kick in and instead of just going about with her day, she decides to grab his phone and follow him, however it’s the last thing she should of done because due to her quick thinking she’s now being taken out of the life she’s ever only known. Will she be safe or are things set to turn out pretty bad for her?
