I’ve only read one of Emma Hart’s books and honestly after reading that one I was hooked on her work, so when I picked up Being Brooke I was intrigued to see if Emma would manage to have kept up the amazing work she did with the previous book I read, and I can honestly say that I was impressed. Emma knows how to reach out to her readers and to give them what they want without them even realising it. I was hooked the minute I saw the cover for this book and I seriously love romcom books, and Emma did an incredible job with this one. I couldn’t fault this book at all, it had everything you could ask for within a romcom, you’ve got the romance, the amazing chemistry, the hot guys, there’s always that one girl/guy who you just can’t help but want to slap because they utterly deserve it. After reading this one, I know for a fact that I’ll be reading more of her work because it is captivating, you can’t help but want more once you’ve had a taste of her work. I’m excited to see what happens in the next book, I’m sure that it’ll be just as incredible as this one.
Brooke has been in love with her best friend Cain for as long as she can remember, the only few issues are that she has never told him, he’s in a relationship with a girl both Brooke and Carly can’t stand, and he doesn’t feel the same. Brooke has been really good at hiding her feelings when it comes to him, but only when he’s there, to everyone else, she’s an open book. She’s determined to do whatever it takes to not let him find out about her feelings for him, but in the meantime she’s dropped out of college for the second time because she lost interest in her mother’s dream of her being a teacher, so now she’s having to figure out what she wants to do in life but also keep working a job that she can’t stand and where she hates her boss. Everything seems to be going well for her, but for some unknown reason, her and Cain seem to be arguing more than ever, and it seems that Cain’s relationship isn’t exactly what both Brooke and Carly think. Will Brooke ever find the courage to tell her best friend that she’s in love with him and will she ever figure out what she wants to do in life?
