Word of warning, if you cry at books, then you’re going to want to make sure you have tissues on hand for this book…. It’s hard for an author to go ahead and try to break me and try to get me to cry whilst reading their books, but somehow this time, Bella Emy managed to achieve the impossible. Her work is incredible and with each book of hers that I read, I find her writing to be improving each and every time (her writing was already amazing, but it just gets better and better). Beneath A Starlit Sky is such an overpowering emotional book, it will take you on such a rollercoaster that you never expected to be on, but the entire ride will be worth it. Bella has come up with an incredible story and you can’t help but feel invested with the story and the characters. I full on bawled my eyes out at points in this book and I know that all the hard work and dedication that went into this book has paid off for Bella. She is a talented writer and I couldn’t find fault with this story, she managed to hit all the right spots and give you the most heartbreaking story she’s written yet….. Seriously, if you cry at books then you’ll cry at this one, but it’s honestly worth it.
Rae is a bright girl, she knows what she wants in life (well, to a certain extent) and she would love nothing more to go backpacking with her friends, but instead she’s spending the summer with her family at their beach house as to her parents spending time with family is important. She expects the usual to happen this summer and expects to be bored within a few days, however when she meets Zach on her first day there, she has no idea how much her life is about to change and how her summer is about to be a lot more interesting than she originally planned.
