With each ending that Jessica Wayne gives us for each book in this series, I never know how she is going to top it with the next book, but as always she has done another amazing job at throwing so many curveballs out there that I was completely shocked the entire way through.
No book is ever the same and I love the direction that Jessica took this series in, nothing is simple is this world but at the same time the entire gang are pretty powerful and epic, and I guess that’s why the councils deemed them all as a threat.
Still this book went in ways that I never saw coming, I lost count how many times I was completely shocked at how events turned out as there was no clues to any of them being unveiled.
I felt a lot for Bronywyn and Tarnley as they have so much time keeping away from each other, so when they finally decided that they were done being careful and going after they both wanted, they’re in the middle of a battle. From when their story started two books ago, you can see how much they’ve both grown as people and how different things are from when this series began. But even still I’ve loved every minute of it, but it’s clear that whilst their story is over (well from their perspectives) there is more going to happen as it really does seem like we’ve only just started uncovering everything.
This book you seriously need to pay attention to when it comes to all the little details because they do all tie together in the end, but it’ll be worth the wait. I honestly couldn’t have pictured a better tale when it came to their story, but I do honestly think that Jessica has some serious talent considering she’s created up an entire world and just made it her own with all the characters and events.
I honestly couldn’t fault this book, everything lined up perfectly and I just kept hoping that they would all get the outcome that they were looking for. But nothing is straight forward as this wouldn’t be one of Jessica’s books if it was as simple as that.
I’d recommend giving this a try, it’s well worth the read and if you’ve been keeping up to date with the series, then you’ll want to get your hands on this to see if things plan out for both Tarnley and Bronywyn and the rest of the group.
The last person that Bronywyn expected to see again was her father, after everything she went through when it came to her losing her mother, and with it being down to the hands of him, she’s in shock when it’s apparent that there’s some truths that she needs to be aware of.
They are all close to running out of time, but there’s a lot more at stake now. Desperate to be one step ahead of the councils, they are doing their best to come up with a plan that will help end the current council and then reform it ready for years to come.
Will they be able to fight the battle they’re currently in or will this time they be too far behind??
What happens when it becomes clear that they have a traitor in their group??
Will they get the help they need in time or is it over for good??
