This is my second book by Pavan Kaur and after reading the first book I knew that she was an author that I wanted to keep on reading. She has a unique way with her stories that reach out to you in ways in which you’d never expect, they have the power to make people connect with the stories as they have that personal touch that not a lot of books tend to have. For me, I found this book to be quite enjoyable and also pretty dark, but I think that it worked out pretty well. The plot was easy to follow at times, but other than that I didn’t see anything to fault with the plot, the characters were quite strong and likeable and being honest I think that Pavan did a good job with this book. If you’ve not checked out her work, then be sure to do so and better yet, try this book and see what you think. I know I’ll be reading more of her work after this one.
Hope had the perfect life, she was 8 years old, had loving parents and didn’t think anything could go wrong, being 8 years old, you wouldn’t think anything different. However, her life changed for good after one tragic accident happened and she ended up losing her entire childhood and family all in one night. Thinking that she would be safe with other family members, little did she realise that her life would never be the same again. Fast forward years later, and she does what she can to get by, however with having to look constantly over her shoulder, she fears that she will never break free from everything that she’s running from, until she ends up meeting someone who shares a connection with her. Will she be given the chance to live her life to the fullest or will she be brought back to face her past and live in fear from the one person who she has tried her hardest to escape?
