This series has literally just taken off in such a way that I can’t describe, but honestly Jessica Wayne really knows how to keep you hooked to the edge of your seats.
I thought that we was in for one wild rollercoaster with the first three books back when it was about Rainey and Elijah, but nope…. This is just getting more and more juicer and steamier.
It was quite refreshing getting to experience what actually happened all those years ago with Delaney, as from what we know it was a mystery and there is blank spots, but still it was exciting and intriguing. Each time I read a book in this series, I can tell that it’s just growing and growing, plus Jessica’s writing is truly just incredible and whilst I see myself that her writing doesn’t need improving as it’s just that good, it’s still growing immensely.
This isn’t like your typical paranormal book, there’s just a whole lot more to it and you just get so drawn in that can’t help but want more and more.
I have no complaints for this book, just that I want more if anything.
The chemistry between Cole and Delaney is just sizzling and you can’t help but want Cole to bang his head together and actually go and be there for her. I know he tries in his own way, but still keeping away with how things are isn’t exactly helping either of them.
There’s so much happening in this book that I would suggest you don’t go in with your guards down… Jessica can be lethal with her books and characters, so be warned…
I’d recommend that you give this a try as it’s just incredible, I’m just excited to get my hands on the next one and find out what happens with Delaney.
Two years ago Delaney was killed, and in that time she’s been trapped between the living and the dead… But now she’s back in reality, the only thing is it’s not her own body. After saving Elijah, Jane ended up being killed but for some unknown reason Delaney’s spirit claimed Jane’s body as her own. Now living in another body she is currently in hiding until Rainey gets back from Ireland with Elijah, but with the craving need to get out and about and ready to hunt people like she used too. However, life isn’t as simple as she thinks, Cole hasn’t returned since the one night on the porch, she’s got magic inside of her that she has no idea how to control which is why she’s not to use it at all and there’s witches after her. So all in all, she’s not exactly coping too well.
When it becomes clear that there’s a war happening in Billings, all Delaney wants to do is go and join the fight so that she can reclaim her turf, but when she realises she’s no longer a hunter, her whole life changes.
Will she be able to get a hold of her magic and quickly??? Will the witches track her down and kill her just like they tried to do to Jane?? Will Cole ever make another reappearance or is it that he can’t forgive what happened????
