After the way Jessica Wayne ended the first book I honestly had no idea what would happen but then again that seems to be a habit with her books as she writes them that well you’ll just be wondering how she’ll make the next book follow on from the previous one. This book was just as incredible as the first one and honestly I wasn’t expecting half of the events that took place to happen. Jessica is so good at bringing her stories to life and creating the amount of twists that keeps her stories never ending but worth the read, and this literally had everything you could ask for.
I loved how everything carried on and honestly I was shocked at how things progressed as the story went on and I found myself enjoying every minute of it. I thought that the characters and how they grew over the course of the story was pretty incredible as they have developed so much since the beginning and I found myself more draw to them both as they just suited each other so well. Don’t get me wrong, at times I wanted to bang their heads together because they were being pains, but still everything worked perfectly from what I read.
I honestly did feel a lot for Ember because it wasn’t exactly nice what she was going through and then there’s the fact that she stumbles upon so many secrets in this book that you can’t help but wonder why she doesn’t go off on a murderous streak.
I couldn’t fault this at all and I loved every minute, Jessica did a great job as per usual and I was hooked from beginning to end. I’m just now excited to get my hands on the next instalment because I have no clue what’s going to happen because yet again Jessica was cruel to us with the ending, but it wouldn’t be one of her books if she wasn’t cruel.
I’d recommend giving this a read because once you start reading Jessica’s books, you’ll be gripped and not want to put them down.
Ember tried her hardest to do the right thing for everyone, yet instead of managing to find a way to get back to her world and be able to die in peace, fate had other plans and now she’s been kidnapped by one of Taranas’ men but instead of him following Taranas’ orders he’s taken things into his own hands and is on the verge of hurting her and making her his puppet. However, someone comes along and stops him just in time and saves her, but when she realises that he’s some kind of reaper, she is so unsure of everything she has ever known.
Meanwhile, Rafferty is determined to find Ember and bring her back to safety because he can’t bear the thought of any harm coming to her. So when it becomes apparent that there’s more to Ember’s one friend that she actually knows, he goes on guard because he can’t make out if he is one to be trusted.
With secrets set to be revealed they are sure to have an effect on everyone around, but will they be able figure a way to break the bond between Ember and Taranas’??? Or are they set to be doomed and for Rafferty to lose Ember for good???
Will Ember’s disease take over and kill her off for good or will they figure out a way to slow the process???
What will happen when another threat appears out of nowhere??? Will they be able to stop it???
