Ever since I saw the cover for this book I was so excited to give this a read, it’s got one of those covers that makes you want to just sit there all cosy on a winter’s night and honestly, those are my favourite type of books. The cover draws you in so much, even though it’s a little simple, sometimes that’s all you need a cover to be to draw you in and for me, Evie nailed that perfectly. This book has everything you could want in a book, there’s character development, an intriguing storyline, sizzling chemistry, what more could you ask for? I love the way Dax and Avery are together, they may not be a couple or anything, but they way they treat each other is hilarious. They are seriously amazing characters and I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops as I’m sure it’ll be an interesting one with the way he is constantly offending her and getting in her way. I’m excited to see what else Evie can write and take this series as just from reading this one alone, she’s set the bar quite high for herself.
Avery is back in town thanks to her grandmother….. everything seems normal until you realise that one Avery’s grandmother is up to causing chaos whilst in ghost form and that she’s had to bound her to the family house until the Council declare that she can be free….. The only issues are that Avery is a witch and as she’s placed the binding spell, she’s not allowed to leave the town otherwise the spell breaks. All Avery has ever wanted was to be able to be free and do as she wishes as she doesn’t feel like the other witches, but her life changes before her when she ends up finding a dead body and the Head Of The Council on the bridge of death….. Will she be able to help figure out who did this or is she set to get hurt along the way?
