I remember when Darcy was first introduced to this series in one the earlier books, and I found her to be such an intriguing character, however what both Claire Marta and Nia Farrell have done have literally changed my whole opinion of what I thought of her. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still intrigued by her character, but with this book they have opened her up so much that you’ll be shocked to find what they’ve written. They are both seriously talented writers and with this series they have opened it up so much and put their own twist on things and I love that. Darcy was such a secretive character earlier on, but in this book you get to discover her secrets, find out what goes on in her head and the events that take place you can’t help but feel for her but admire the type of character she is.
With each book I find myself just gripping onto the pages and not wanting them to end and it’s happened again with this book. So much happens but I will say that if you’re partial to triggers then I’d be really careful when reading. I know for a fact that certain aspects of this book really did hit home to me, but I’m at a point that I am able to control most of it, but I’m only human and still sometimes you can’t help but picture yourself in Darcy’s shoes.
I honestly couldn’t fault this story and loved how carefully planned out it was, I’m really excited to see where else this series will go because at the minute it seems that we’re only a partial of the way through it.
Zana and Lukas have had their eyes set on Darcy (Raven’s Cousin) ever since they first set eyes on her when she arrived at the Citadel to visit Raven. But she’s never frayed from their mind. However, with the current state of her being banished from the Citadel’s grounds thanks to her helping Riley leave and then put her in an uncompromising position, they’ve not been able to see her or find out if she’s okay. But when she appears on their doorstep at the Citadel one night in a state of shock, Zana and Lukas are determined to figure out her secrets and to try and help her… little do they realise that Darcy already knows what they are…
Will she give in and tell them what’s happening and accept the help they’re offering or will she be a true warrior and do as she has been trained to do?
Will she ever truly accept Zana and Lukas or was their paths never set to cross???
