As always Claire Marta has smashed it out of the park, I don’t know how or where her creativity comes from, but she is seriously twistedly awesome. Yet again she has manged to produce another amazing story, that leaves you left wondering what on earth at the end. But then again, she wouldn’t be her talented self if she didn’t go ahead and throw her surprises in there.
I honestly had no idea where Claire was going to take this book, but I do know that I was surprised at how she pulled this together. This is so much different than all of her previous books, but it just calls to you in a way that you can’t help feeling a strong connection to… especially if you’re a lover of music or a musician. This story will reach deep into your soul and if you’re a believer in soul mates, then your knowledge and beliefs will be tested.
I love the dynamics between both Simone and Hugh, it’s amazing how just a single melody can captivate you, and in this it does a lot more than just captivate as it reaches Hugh’s soul. You’d think from just that line alone that this would be a traditional romance book, but it wouldn’t be one of Claire’s stories if it didn’t have any messed up parts or surprises in it.
I can’t fault this book as I was just hooked with the story and if the epilogue is anything to go by I am honestly hoping that there will be more to this.
I would honestly recommend giving this a try as it’s so unique to her other work that you’ll be in for a surprise.
Hugh has been passionate about music for all his life, now that he’s gone abroad and in Italy he can’t believe that he is going to go ahead and make his dream a reality. However, the one thing that has been keeping him going so far is the nightly duet that he does with his neighbour, he has no idea who it is, but just knows that when he does perform with them it’s like the music wraps itself all around him and he can’t help but feel lost to the music.
Loving the mystery behind it all, he can’t help but be thoroughly surprised when his neighbour starts leaving him sheets of music, but only one at a time. With the need to know who the mystery neighbour is, he can’t believe his eyes when his eyes land on Simone.
Whilst it’s clear that Simone is years older than Hugh, you can’t deny the chemistry and attraction between them. Yet will everything be worth it when it seems that the music might have been a bit much for Hugh to handle??? Will he regret ever playing alongside his neighbour???
