I just love getting to pick up any one of Emma Hart’s books, and that’s mainly due to the fact that she just knows how to keep her readers hooked. You never know what Emma is going to write about, but the one that you should always be prepared for is for Emma to have written one of her characters to be kinda whacky, but even still they bring character to the story plus you can’t help but love what they are always up too as honestly it could be anything.
With each book of Emma’s I find that she is always improving, but at the same time her writing is so gripping and talented that she doesn’t need to improve, she just does it without realising and I love that I’m always excited to see what story she has for us.
This book is a lot different to her other books, and that’s mainly due to the fact that this is based on the Duke’s daughter being borderline Autistic and I can see how passionate Emma is with how she wrote the story, it’s clear that this holds a special place in her heart and I love that due to her own experience and research, she has written about such a sensitive topic, as honestly Autism isn’t something that a lot of people take seriously or even get answers for. Yet the fact that Emma has tackled this in such a way that she can make others relate too shows how talented of a writer she is. This isn’t like her other books, but still it holds a clear message and I love how Alex (The Duke) wasn’t willing to just sit there and let his daughter struggle, he wanted to get answers and the fact it took him 5 years to even get answers, shows that this is something that isn’t exactly easy to get answers for. But it also shows that you should never give up, but if you’re able to make changes to someone’s life in order to help them then you should always go ahead and do it.
Overall, I love what Emma did with the story, I loved the characters, the dynamics of it all and I honestly couldn’t find any fault with it. I do think though Adelaide was such a sweet person and that she was incredibly sweet with Olympia and that she didn’t exactly get frustrated with her was just so heart-warming.
I think that with the way that Emma has wrote this book might have left her future books something to live up too because this is just utter perfection.
I’m excited to see how the third book plans out because it’s clear that it’s going to be an interesting one, plus if Eva is going to be up to her own tricks then it’ll be interesting see how it all plays out.
Honestly, I’d recommend giving this a read because Emma is extremely talented and if you loved the first book, you’ll just want more.
Adelaide’s plans for the summer is to go ahead and spend the next six weeks tutoring Olympia, the Duke’s daughter. With trying to help figure out if she is classed as having Autism, she knows that she’s got a lot on her hands, but she knows no matter what it’ll be rewarding.
It sounds simple right? Nope, because no matter the case, she can’t help but fantasise about the Duke himself. But she’s not willing to push the line because she couldn’t ever see him wanting anything with her, plus she knows that his daughter is his entire world. However, when it becomes clear that everyone is trying to get Alex (the Duke) set up with someone, Adelaide goes ahead and hatches a plan of going to a charity event with him in order to scare off any potential charmers.
When it comes out that there’s rumours that Adelaide and Alex are the hottest new couple, Adelaide has a panic about it because the last thing she wants is for anything to get back to Olympia, for her to get hurt and for her to be living in a fantasy that isn’t even reality. Yet, when Eva makes it known that she needs her help, will Adelaide go ahead with the plan that her sister has or is she set to keep everything quiet so that people stop assuming things???
With Alex and Adelaide growing closer over the summer, will she be able to leave or will their plans change for the good?
Will Olympia be able to get the diagnosis that Alex has been pushing for???
