This is a new author to me, but what drew me in was the cover and the blurb, so I thought I’d give it a try and honestly, this book is a lot different to all the other witch books I’ve read in the last two weeks. I know that sometimes when authors write in the same genre that sometimes they tend to blend with the other books in that same category unless an author is able to create a whole different world to make it stand out to the rest. And I have to say that this time, Amy Boyles actually managed to do that, I love how this was so different to all the rest because for me, I’ve never known Witches, Wizards and Vampires to all mix together in the one community and that mainly being because Vampires aren’t exactly liked and also due to the fact that they feed off witches to try and be more powerful. However, the world that Amy has created is a lot different and quite intriguing and I have to say that I’m quite impressed with the story that was wrote. Whilst I did enjoy the story, I did find myself at times flicking through the pages because there would be a bit too much information when it wasn’t needed, but other than that I do think that everything else worked.
The one thing that I loved the most in this book is the relationship between Thorne and Charming, it was so interesting that you couldn’t help but want them to actually do something. They had the right chemistry and it was just amazing how frustrated they got with each other even though deep down they both knew they needed the other to help.
I think overall Amy did a great job and I’m excited to see what the next book will be like.
I would recommend giving this a try as it’s an unique read.
Charming is proud of her Matchmaking company, and she’s worked hard to get to where she is… She may not have as much magic as her celebrity mother does, but she has that small amount where she’s able to mix it with science and math in order to help her get the results she wants when it comes to her company. Everything is going fine, everything is on track until she receives a voicemail from her colleague Jimmy about something not being right over in Witch’s Forge, then after receiving a call from the Mayor of there stating that she needs to come over there to help save the town as Jimmy is missing, she has no idea what she’s about to step into. Will she be able to track Jimmy down before it’s too late and will she be able to save the town by finding a way to restore the magic???
