I love anything written by Bella Emy, so I was excited to read this story as I never know which direction she’s going to take. This is such an emotional story and being honest if you’re a crier, then you’re going to want to make sure you have tissues on hand because Bella did an amazing job at capturing all the emotions for all the characters. I’m not a crier myself, but I felt all the pain that Ana goes through and all the hurt, but being honest that’s what makes the story so much more.
The one thing that stood out to me and I didn’t fully like was the fact that I could predict certain parts of the story from a few chapters in, normally I like to be able to be completely thrown by what the author writes, but whilst this was predictable in places, the circumstances surrounding it, I never expected, so that worked out in Bella’s favour. Other than that, I can’t actually fault the story at all, but this is such a heart-warming short read, and honestly, I think you should give it a go.
Ana has been having a tough time, for the past four years Christmas has always been hard, but that’s due to her losing the love of her life around this time. She has put her life on hold and hates being surrounded by family during the festive holidays, because to her, she feels like it’s best to be alone and is able to grieve for her husband.
Luckily for her, she has one person who understands what she’s going through and her best friend (Gary) goes out of his way to give her the perfect present….. A trip to London.
Whilst she hates doing anything, may this be the time that she needs to heal and put her life back together?
