It’s been a while since I have read anything by Staci Hart and after seeing the cover for this book I was excited to give it a read. And after reading I’m not sure what to make of it, don’t get me wrong, Staci is a very talented writer and has her own unique way of doing things compared to a lot of other authors, but this book I found to not have that WOW factor or it didn’t have that one thing gripping me to the edge of my seat. Back when I first discovered Staci, I fell in love with her book, Wasted Words and once I read that I found myself to be hooked onto her work, but after reading this one I can honestly say her work isn’t for me. I know for a fact there’s going to be a lot of people that are going to think either I’m crazy or think that I’ve got no idea what I’m talking about, but with this book I found myself at times (quite a lot honestly) flicking through the pages because I found that there was too much detail that didn’t need to be there, for instance whenever Lila and Kash had their arrangement of fooling around together and getting hot and messy in the sheets, I felt like it went on for pages and pages….. I love all the hot and messy in the sheets as much as the next girl, but when I’m reading page after page after page of it, it’s just too much and this happens quite a bit through the book. For me, that was a huge turn off. Other than that, I did find the story to be an okay read, but honestly this just wasn’t for me and I think after this I may not read any more of her work, don’t get me wrong, she’s a good writer but her style isn’t for me. But whilst that be the case, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take a chance on her work because for all you know you may discover a new author who’s work you fall in love with.
Kash is just a gardener, he helps run the family business and helps to grow the flowers that are needed for weddings and events, or just a special occasion. He lives at home to help out with his mom as she needs it due to her being ill, but luckily he’s got the rest of his siblings there to help him out. Out of all his brothers, he’s the calm one out of them and being honest that comes in handy when Lila comes over to unleash her load on him whenever something has gone wrong. Lila is a wedding planner and she goes to Kash’s family’s business when she’s got weddings to organise, so if there is issues she tends to take it out on Kash even though he just stands there and take it. Luckily though, he’s known her since school as they were in the same year together. She’s still uptight but he’s hoping to change that and make it so that she’s just a little looser in all the right places. Will he be able to change that or is he set to get burned by her?
