An amazing group of authors have come together to bring us some incredible holiday stories. I honestly couldn't wait to dig in as I was excited to give them all a read, yet I'd have to say out of all of them Sierra Hill's was the one that stood out for me.
I always look forward to giving Sierra Hill’s books a read as I never know what I’m going to get from her, but I know for a fact it’s different to each one but also enjoyable at the same time. This time she’s written a Holiday short, and I have to say it’s a lot different from her other work, but it’s still an enjoyable read.
I thought she did an interesting take on the theme she went with, and I thought that Chase was a sweet guy and that he hadn’t had it easy but you could see that he was willing to do his best to help out, especially when it came to looking after his grandma. I thought Everly was such a strong willed woman, but at the same time I thought she could have just told the people she worked with where to stick it considering of the way they treated her.
Out of the two characters, I’d have to say that Chase was my favourite because he was attempting to turn his life around after the drama he caused when he was on tour, plus it’s clear that he cared about Everly.
I do have to say that this story did seem really fast paced and whilst sometimes that’s a good thing, I just feel like there was bits missing from the story and that considering the golf retreat was a major part of the story, I feel like that this should have been focused on more and that we could have had more from the story.
Overall, I thought this was a good read and I’m looking forward to seeing what else Sierra writes as I do enjoy reading her work.
I’d recommend giving this a try as there’s so many different holiday stories you can read, plus you may discover a new author.
Everly has been invited on the golf retreat, and this is her hopes of actually being noticed and getting the promotion she deserves within the company she works for. However, with her being the only female in a domain area where there’s more guys than anything, she’s hoping that she can impress the boss with her golfing skills. Yet, that’s the one thing she’s struggling with.
Needing to up her golfing game and learn to play fast, she ends up getting lessons from the one and only Chase Novak (former PGA player turned golf club pro), but when it turns out she needs a plus one she goes and does the one crazy thing that she can’t believe herself… She invites Chase.
Will Chase be able to help keep her cover and pretend they’re in love or is she set to be discovered the minute her boss lays eyes on her???
Will she get that promotion she so truly deserves or was it a long shot the entire time???
