This series has just been incredible, I have just fallen in love with every story, journey and the characters. I love the world that Amanda Siegrist has created here, and I was even more surprised and shocked when I realised that this book had characters from a different series of Amanda’s, but even still I loved every minute of it and couldn’t believe how she managed to intertwine the worlds. Even though the first book will always be my favourite in terms of the characters I have to say that this one was probably the best out of the entire series, plus it shows how much Amanda has grown as an author.
I actually couldn’t fault this book as she did so much with it, but still it was pretty incredible with how the story followed on, it may have been a year later, but it worked out so well. My favourite part mainly was that Hope was going up against the mayor to show him she wasn’t going to let him bully her into a corner. Being honest, the mayor is a twonk and he seriously needs a lesson about how to treat people, but I love how Amanda included him into the story as it’s clear he still has issues with Hope as she up and left working for him last year.
I thought that Hope was a lovely sassy character, she just has a couple of inner demons she needs to work through, but still, she’s a good person. I loved how Mase was willing to prove to her that he wasn’t going to give up, yet you can’t help but feel your heart break at some of the hoops she throws him through. He’s a good guy too, it’s clear he’s got a big heart and would do anything for those he cares about.
Overall, Amanda has done an amazing job and I’m excited to dive into more of her work as I’m just truly hooked and gripped by her writing. I’m hoping that she plans to write more for this series as it’s clear there’s more to happen and with the way it ended, I’m excited to see if Hope will get her wish.
I’d honestly suggest giving her work a try because there’s honestly a little something for everyone, plus with now being the winter/Christmas period, this series seems like the best time to dive right in for this particular series.
Mase has been captivated by Hope ever since he first laid eyes on her, but no matter what he’s done or said she refuses to give him the chance to take her out. He’s done his best to just get on with his life, yet when he’s called to help and fix something for the church, he honestly can’t believe his luck when he sees Hope sitting there. Attempting one last time to try and win her heart, he fails to get her to join him, so he decides it’s best to just focus on the task he’s been called to do.
However, he’s shocked beyond belief when a couple of days later she’s actually out seeking him and decides to be brave and accept his invitation to get together. However, with wanting to take things slow and at her own pace, Mase quickly scares her by wanting to introduce her to his brother… Will Mase be able to help clear things up and actually get through to her heart and mind??? Or will it be over before it’s began?
Will Hope realise that maybe Mase is the guy for her or will she sabotage it due to her own inner demons??
