If you’ve read Long Road Home by J.W. Ashley, then you should remember Kleo, but she only played a small part in that book and that was mainly back in the beginning of the book…. But you only really saw one side of her and you wasn’t able to make much of an impression of her. However, this book is all about Kleo and the road that she takes. I love how with this book it makes you realise that there’s more that meets the eye and there’s more to a person than what they show on the outside and I think that J.W. Ashley did a really good job at capturing that message and putting it out there for readers to actually pick up and learn from. Life isn’t easy, we should all know that by now, but the people who essentially grow up with money, life is extremely different for them, some people think that they have it easy, others think they should actually be cut off and learn things in the real world, but all in all, not many people realise the struggles that they go through…. And this book it shows so many different sides of Kleo and how her life truly is on the inside. The plot was really good and gripping, I didn’t want to put it down at all, but whenever I read anything by this author, it’s the same, as in I just want more, or that I don’t want to put the book down….
I really do admire Kleo for everything she has overcome, okay, some of the things she has done the last few years aren’t exactly the greatest of things, but in a way she’s had to find her own way to heal after everything she’s been through.
Dean is such a sweetie, you can’t blame him for hating Kleo considering how she made his life a living hell back when they were in school but at the same time he’s not ready to give up something he’s worked hard on for the last twos years so easily just because Kleo is back.
I seriously can’t fault this book, it’s perfect in so many ways…. I would recommend that you go ahead and give this a read because J.W. Ashley is talented, and her writing just grows with each book she writes. I’m excited to see what else she has planned next.
For the last two years Kleo has done everything she can to take control of her life, but in a way that makes her forget everything that’s happened and so that she can deal with things her own way. However, now that she’s going back home after finishing getting her Master’s degree she’s got no idea what awaits her when she gets back. But when she ends up going out the night before she’s due back home she ends up getting into trouble and as this is the last of all straws for her father, it puts her future on the line…. All she has ever dreamed of doing is running the Summer Camp that her family owns, but with her being away for the last two years, someone else had to step in and run it….. But now she’s back she’s expecting it to be hers once again, but when she discovers life isn’t going to be going the way she expects it and has to earn her place she’s not happy with who she’s having to answer too…… Dean. Her old high school crush, the one she never told but she did make his life a living hell and now he’s the one running the camp….. So as you can imagine she’s looking forward to it…. With Dean still resenting everything she put him through in school, he’s determined to not let her beat him again and prove that he belongs there. Will she be able to prove to her dad that she can run the camp and have it be rightfully hers next summer or will Dean be the one that gets to keep his job???
