I love getting to pick up one of Carrie Aarons’ books as her writing is so raw and gripping. You just get lost in the words and can’t help but love the story that is being told.
This book has such a different feel to the other books of hers I’ve read and if anything, it seems more of a sweet cosy contemporary book, but even still it does actually put you in the Christmas holiday mood.
I loved the way that Carrie wrote this book, it had the perfect amount of heat, chemistry, pent up anger and even the little sweet holiday traditions… oh and let’s not forget a sweet, hot naked guy singing with his guitar… My heart swooned at that.
I thought that both Madison and Porter were really intriguing characters, whilst they were both complete opposites to each other, they were also quite similar, they just needed to communicate a lot better and then maybe things wouldn’t have been in the dark so much. But still, they were both pretty feisty when they needed to be, and I loved all the little moments between them when they thought no one was paying attention.
Overall, I think that Carrie did a great job, it’s clear she’s talented and I love how with each book she always manages to suck me into her stories. She’s got some pretty rare talent and I honestly can’t wait to see what she has planned next.
Madison is back home and after the last year she honestly didn’t see herself divorced and back home living with her parents. However, with everyone gossiping about her life and how she’s single, all she wants to do is hide away from everyone, but that’s not the case when she ends up bumping into the one person, she honestly thought wouldn’t still be living in their hometown…
Porter was the boy that she was in love with in high school, behind closed doors they would end up being together, but in the end he broke her heart, so now seeing him after it being a few years she’s in pure shock… But what guts her even more is the way he treats her.
Will Madison be able to cope being at home and around Porter until she’s ready to move on with her life or is he set to keep throwing cruel words at her??
Will Porter ever actually reveal the truth to Madison as to why things ended??
Will they be able to be civil to each other or is there more set to happen between them???
