This is the first time of me reading any of Amber Lacie’s work, but before I even had chance to even start this book, I was instantly taken in by the cover. It draws you in that much, that you can’t help but want to find out what exactly is enclosed beyond the pages of the book. You are taken on such an emotional journey and you can’t help but feel what all the characters feel, Amber Lacie has done such an amazing job with this book and I honestly hope that there is more to come from these characters. Amber has such a way with words, that you are instantly hooked from the moment you start reading page 1, until the very end. When the author can draw you in from the very first instant and can make you feel all the emotions that each of the characters are feeling, then you know for a fact that the author has done such a superb job. I found the story so easy to follow and I just couldn’t help but fall in love with both Indigo and Lex (Alexander), they are just characters that are just loveable. Don’t get me wrong I did want to strangle them both at some points through the book, but that’s only due to some of their choices. But overall, I do think that Amber did an amazing job at telling the story.
Lex had everything, he has just been picked up to play by one the of larger leagues, he was getting ready to tell his family all about his upcoming career/future, but whilst out on a drive, little did he know that his life was about to change forever. After having to deal with the aftermath for the past 9 years, he honestly never expected to meet such an out going girl, who had a mouth on her but someone who wasn’t afraid to take anyone down a notch. His life ends up being completely turned over once again and he has no idea what is even going on. All he knows is that he wants this girl, but he has no idea where any of this will be going.
Indigo has grown up in life hating love, but the reason for that is due to her family, she does all that she can so that she doesn’t end up like them. Having done well in life and succeeding with her business, she decides that she needs a change in scenery and goes aheads with selling her business and moving away from the city that she pretty much has been able to call home for so long. She wants to start a fresh and the perfect way of doing that is by going to where her best friend (Erin) lives and stopping with her until she is back on her feet. However, whilst there she ends up capturing the eye of one of the locals, which turns into a summer fling but is it all that it really seems?
