If you’re a fan of the Jane Austin novels, then this series might be for you.
I’m a huge fan of Pride And Prejudice, so when I saw that this book was similar to the writing to it I was just super excited to give this a try. Everything that I’ve read of Emma Hart’s has just been incredible, there is always something for everyone when it comes to her writing. However, this book is so much different to her other books, but even with the setting completely different, I still enjoyed every minute of it and I just wanted more as I read on.
I thought this was such a great read and thought that the characters were amazing, it teaches you a lot about society and how we as people perceive things, but even still it makes us realise how lucky we are.
There’s one thing that for me I would loved to have known more of, for example Gabriella has her own secret blog, it’s clear that it is an important part to her considering she keeps it a secret from everyone she knows, but still it would be great to see if it ever advanced or what her plans were with it.
Otherwise, I loved what Emma did and I thought that both of Gabriella’s friends were great, although the real star of the story was her Aunt Catherine. She was a right hoot and I just loved half of the things she said and did, but then again it wouldn’t be one of Emma’s stories without having at least one crazy relative.
I had a right laugh and was gripped from the start, I’m excited to see how else the series plans out because I’m just hooked and love Emma’s writing.
Gabriella has essentially been given everything in life, but whilst that’s the case, she does her best to give back to the community in her village. She’s such a kind-hearted person, but she feels like she can’t be open to her dad about what she wants to do in life.
With wanting to be able to do garden design and have a future career in it too as she knows she’ll not inherit the grounds she lives on, she needs to learn the ins and outs so that she can pass her course, however that requires seeking advice from the one person who can’t stand her, Miles. With him being the grounds Gardener, he should be able to help her, but it proves difficult as all he ever is to her is rude and distant.
Is there a reason behind Miles treating her the way he does?
What will her Aunt Catherine do next, considering she’s always up to something crazy?
Will she be able to face her dad and actually tell him what she wants from life???
