I’ve read quite a few books of J.W. Ashley’s, and each time I read them I know that I’ll always be in for a surprise as she is quite a brilliant writer. She knows what grips readers and gives it to us in ways in which we never expect. I think that with each book she releases into the world, her passion and her talent just grows. I love how with each book it’s always something different and this book was something different and a lot stronger than ever before. I thought that how the plot was in this story was an interesting one, it shows the struggles that people every day have to live with, but how heart breaking it can be for those having to watch. Honestly, if you’re a crier when it comes to books then I do think you may want to have some tissues handy as J.W. Ashley really tugs at your emotions with this book…. A lot happens in this book and sometimes you just need a minute to see which direction it’s going in, but by the end of it, you’ll be glad that you took a chance on this book…
I was gripped to this book the minute I picked it up, until I put it down… I honestly couldn’t fault this book and I can’t wait to see what else J.W. Ashley writes and I hope that her writing continues to grow with each book she writes.
I would recommend trying this book, you may find yourselves discovering a new authors work.
Macey is currently studying for her masters so that once she’s finished getting everything she needs to achieve in school, she can go back home and help run her Grandmothers restaurant. It’s been a dream of hers for years and one day she can’t wait to take over it. However, everything changes the minute she gets a call from her dad letting her know that her Grandmother has been taken to hospital after a fall…. Even though her dad tells her to stay where she is, she knows for a fact that she needs to be back home, with her family and help them out. She doesn’t want to be miles away from them, so she does the only thing reasonable in her mind…. She books a flight and heads home. What awaits her at the airport is the one person who she used to be able to count on…. but instead decided to hurt her when she least expected it. Now, with one look at Lincoln, she hates how she still feels something for him after all these years, but at the same time she knows that she still hates him for what he did. With a few surprises in store for Macey back home, will she be able to settle into life back home and help out with the restaurant or are things set to turn out in such a way Macey never imagined?
