Things are never going to be the same for anyone in the town of Morganville as since the Bishop has decided to come along and ruin all the peace and divide up the town. However that isn't Claire and her friends only problem as violent black clouds have started hovering over the small town, they know that a storm is coming but how bad it will be they have no clue.
However this isn't Claire's only problem as whilst helping Amelie finding out what Bishop plans to do to the town, she has to look after Myrnin and help him on his projects, then she has to avoid Monica who Claire managed to get on the wrong side of, but whilst doing all of that she must attend to her classes at the university. So you can tell it's not exactly the easiest thing for her, but somehow she manages to cope.
There is so much drama and craziness that happens in this book, however friendships and loyalties are tested. Will Claire and her friends be able to figure it all out before it gets worse or will they betray each other in the process.
I do feel sorry for Claire as all she wanted to do in the first place was just attend university so that later on she could go on ahead to MIT, but ever since she turned up in Morganville her life hasn't exactly been the greatest. I know that she is a smart girl but at times I feel like it would be better if she had someone who was on her level of thinking and could actually help her when she needs it. I'll be honest I can't stand Shane, I know that most of you guys out there love Shane as character but for me he has never really done anything, I honestly wished that she could have been put with someone else instead of constantly making sure that he's alright and not about to get into any trouble.
Other than that I am loving the story so far, I always make sure that when I'm reading one of these stories that I have the next book with me just in case I get through the other one first. Honestly you should pick up this series as it's that good.
