I was intrigued to see what was going to happen next and honestly I have to say that after reading this book you can tell that Brooke O’Brien’s writing has improved massively. I understand that Where I Found You was her debut novel so it wasn’t going to be perfect, but honestly after seeing some authors debut novels I know that Brooke had done an amazing job. This book I found to be even better in terms of the writing style and it seemed that she had worked out the pace and the characters perfectly. I didn’t see much repetition like there was in the first book and that goes to show that with each book she writes that she is just going to continue to grow. The one thing that I think that Brooke could work on is at times there is scenes from this book that were in the first book and the way that they happen to play is like extra details get added in so it’s not always consistent. I think that if she would make sure that the scenes are matching but make sure that the thoughts of who’s perspective stands out when they cross over into the other books then I think it would be perfect. That’s the only thing that I thought didn’t work for me. Otherwise Brooke wrote another amazing book. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next one in the series will bring.
Mason and Brea have been best friends for a good few years and they have always been there for each other, but little does Brea know that all the time her and Mason have known each other, Mason has loved her, yet he refuses to put his heart on the line because he sees that she is happy with the relationship that she is in. You can’t help but feel for him until you find out what he’s like when it comes to how he treats girls…. In some ways, you think that he was like his dad and following down his path until one night things change and it’s like there’s been a spell cast upon both Brea and Mason. Yet after that night their relationship is tested, whether they are able to continue as if things are normal will determine if their friendship can survive.
