With each book of Carrie Aarons, I get excited because I have no idea which direction she’s going or what type of story she’s going to give us… However, with this book I was hooked from the very beginning but it also reached out to me on an emotional level. I connected with the story so much that it felt like I was the one living through the story that was taking place. I know what it’s like to lose a sibling, but the difference between me and Smith is that I lost my brother when I was quite young, and it was literally days before my own birthday… But I get how hard it is, I get the whole grief that he’s going through and needing to find his own way to handle it all. I did feel for him a lot because I understood what it was like for him. I loved every minute of this book and I have to say that out of all the books I’ve read by Carrie, this is my favourite by far. When an author makes a reader truly connect to their story you know without a doubt that they are doing such an amazing thing. With each book of Carrie’s I just end up loving more and more, I’m so excited to see what else she has planned or what she’s already released because she is a talented writer.
With this book I loved every second, although I do think it would have been interesting to see Smith actually fight it off with Justin over their feelings for Molly, a little fighting action between the two guys would have been a hell of a lot interesting because then you would have gotten to see Smith’s feelings for Molly on a whole new level. Other than that, I really did enjoy the story and can’t fault it.
Molly was looking forward to spending the summer away from real life (well as much as she could), spending time with her boyfriend and looking forward to planning her future… Little did she realise that life was about to alter her ideas completely. Suddenly her boyfriend flees the country, breaks up with her over text and now having to go on this vacation which was planned differently in her head, she has no idea how she’s going to cope the next two months… Oh.. and did she mention that her ex-boyfriends best friend (Smith) is going to be there, but he can’t stand her for some unknown reason… But he’s hiding a secret of his own nonetheless.
Will the summer go off smoothly without any hitches or is Smith determined to make Molly’s life hell???
