After reading the first book I was quite intrigued to see how things would play out between Cole and Cheyanne, so I was super excited when Melanie Harlow announced that she was going to be writing a story about them. I have to say that after reading this book, that I honestly loved this story a lot more than the first one, there was just something about Cole and Cheyanne that draws you to them and you can’t help but wonder what’s going to happen between them. This book was so sweet and heart-breaking, you can’t help but feel for both characters as they seem to have a lot going on and whilst they are trying to be open and honest with each other they don’t want to complicate things. Plus you can’t blame Cole for wanting to give his daughter everything, so I do admire him for it. Although I do think he should man up just a little and realise that he is allowed to be happy, considering the circumstances and everything he’s been through and it’s clear that he’s got chemistry with Cheyanne.
I really do think that Melanie did these characters justice, I loved every minute of the book and couldn’t put it down. If anything, I have to say that this might be Melanie’s best book yet… I couldn’t fault this at all, I just loved every minute.
I’d recommend giving this book a read, it’s for sure my favourite out of the two books so far.
Cole and Cheyanne have known each other for years, they grew up together and their parents have lived next door to each other for as long as they can remember. With both of them living at home still, they tend to see each other a lot and Cheyanne helps out with looking after his nine-year old daughter. With Cole set on being a good father to his daughter and doing his best to provide for her, he doesn’t see himself ever moving on and finding happiness for himself. Yet, what he doesn’t know is that for years Cheyanne has been harbouring feelings for him and would love nothing more than to be his for good. What will happen when one night after they’ve both gone out for dinner and Cheyanne is a bit too tipsy and sends a text that she never wanted him to see? Will he play along or will he just ignore it??
