This series has been pretty interesting since the beginning and I have loved nothing more than getting to know more about the characters that Kelsie Rae has created within this series and just from reading the first three books you can tell that there’s so much going on but they all have their own way of doing things.
I was intrigued to see how Milo’s story would plan out, mainly being because in the first two books you can see that he’s well reserved, but still he’s intriguing when you do get glimpses of him.
I did enjoy getting to see how Kelsie has expanded this series and I found Milo to be a hard one to uncover as I get he was hurt with how things ended between him and Em (Maddie) so it’s understandable that he’s having a hard time coming to terms with how things now are the fact he’s now a dad.
I love how he managed to step up to the job and did what he could so that he could help both his daughter and Em, it was a noble thing to do and it showed that he does have a soft spot.
Em on the other hand I thought she was an okay character, but I just struggled to like her. I thought that she was way too hard on herself and don’t get me wrong I understand struggling to having to adjust to your life when you’re going through hard times or even trying to confide in people… but it just seemed like she enjoyed tormenting her own mind. I get it’s hard, but surely with Milo going out of his way to organise his life so that he can provide a safe space and environment for his daughter, you’d think that she’d at least be honest with him if she didn’t want to lose everything (as she so called thinks she will).
I wouldn’t say that this was my favourite book, but still I enjoyed the story, if anything I just wished that Em actually stood on her own and actually confided in Milo as whilst she knows that things are over between them, with having a new baby between them changes a lot of things.
I’d recommend giving this a try as you never know what could happen, you may love it if you already love Kelsie’s work or if this is the first time giving it a try, you may find a new author to go and binge read.
Em was planning on keeping everything under wraps, she was going to have the baby and then the both of them would disappear… However, that’s not the case and considering she never confided with Gibbs and Milo that she was also with someone else, Milo ends up thinking that her daughter is his and makes a surprise visit to the hospital. Both Em and Milo did a number on each other, and whilst that’s the case, Milo is willing to go to the extreme to unsettle his life and change it so that Em and his daughter now live with him.
Parenting isn’t easy, but with Milo and Em trying to find a truce, it’s also clear that neither of them know what they’re doing but are trying their best. However, with lies and secrets lurking in the dark and Em starting to be blackmailed will they find a way to face the truth and get through it, or is it all set to end up hurting everyone involved???
