After reading the first book in this series, I was anxious to see what else Kendall Ryan had in store for the rest of the boys, and honestly after getting to read this book I honestly was glad I did. Kendall has a way of writing which draws you in and normally that’s just from the cover or title alone from her books. Back in the first book you can’t help but be intrigued by Wolfie as he is such a different character than all of his friends and whilst that works in their favour for their friendship, as his own person it just draws you in as you want to see what is beneath the surface, find out what is happening in head. I think that the way Kendall wrote this book, she did it quite well and that included with how she handled Wolfie’s past, as it’s not easy to go through something traumatic and to have the one person who’s meant to believe in you and be there for you to say that you’ve basically made it up as it can have a huge impact on who you are later on in life. I know all about it due to some of my past, but truthfully, Penelope brought out a side of him that he never knew existed and in reality having someone who wasn’t just there to get something out of him helped him work with his issues in a way he was comfortable with.
I do feel for Penelope because from what you know of her, all she has done in life is work her ass off and even though she’s had her brother (Connor) try to protect her, she likes being able to do things herself. So the fact that she’s working in an environment where they look down upon women isn’t exactly fair to her, but she does her best to make things work for her. I do also feel for the fact hat she’s been harbouring feelings for Wolfie for quite some time now, but she’s never been in the position to try and do anything about it. All most people want is to fall in love with someone and have them fall for them, but love works in very strange ways.
Overall I do think that Kendall did a great job, I love the plot, the characters, just everything really, I honestly couldn’t fault it at all.
I’m excited to see how Connor’s story plays out because in this book we’ve only just started seeing him change from the person he used to be and now he’s had to grow up…. It’ll be interesting seeing out it all plays out for him.
Wolfie is a quiet guy, he doesn’t tend to open up to anyone and doesn’t have anyone close to him, other than his friends with benefits arrangements he has with this one girl whenever he feels the need. He’s got a bit of baggage but doesn’t want to harbour anyone with his past. He’s never been in the vascinity of Connor’s sister for very long and that’s not because of choice, but due to the fact there’s never really been time other than the few occasions when everyone has met up… So when Connor offers up Wolfie to help Penelope out with going on this work adventure with her, he has no idea what to say… he’s got eyes and knows how hot she is, but at the same time he doesn’t want to even push anything when he’s got his own issues… so when Penelope throws a proposition at him, will he be willing to just let go of everything for the one night or will he turn away and regret with the choice he makes?
