If I’m ever feeling down or sad, I know for a fact if I pick up one of Mary Kelly Reed’s books, it’ll help me escape the reality I live in, even if it’s just for a few hours and I love that about her work. I always look forward to picking one of her books up because they are the perfect remedy for anything and I love how she always puts her own spin on her romantic comedies. This is the first book in one of her series and honestly this was nothing like I expected it to be, there was huge amounts of adventure, family drama (sometimes it’s good when it’s not your own that you have to worry about), amazing characters and the plot was just incredible, I just wanted to keep reading on because I was that sucked into the story.
I will say though, that I love the relationship between Ally and Danny, even though they are best friends, deep down for me I think they are perfect for each other. I have no idea what Mary plans on doing with these two characters but I hope that she gets them together in the end because I think their chemistry is off the wall. I’d recommend reading this because it’s a really interesting and quirky read.
Ally has her own blog and she goes about and makes posts that get people talking/ interacting, you name it. And she writes about pretty much anything, no matter the topic, if she feels that there’s something there worth writing about, then she goes for it. A few months back, she wrote a post about an author and their work, she calls him out on his latest book and things don’t exactly go down too well… Fast forward a few months and her and one of her best friends (Emma) head to a book fair that Ally’s boyfriend (Sam) is the organiser of, Emma wants to meet this author (Peter) from Ally’s blog and just as they do…. the unexpected happens, one of his assistants collapse right in front of Ally…. With Ally, Peter and the other assistant being the lead suspects in the investigation that happens, will Ally be able to clear her name and get to the truth?
