So far I’ve only read a couple of books by Kendall Ryan and I’ve had mixed opinions on them, but needless to say they were all still great books. This time round, when I picked up this one I was engaged and hooked on the story from the very beginning, it had such a different feeling and atmosphere to the others ones I’ve read and I really enjoyed that. Sometimes with books you can pick them up and they’ll have the same type of feeling as previous books, but just with a different plot and storyline, but Kendall did a great job at making this book stand out quite a bit and I loved every second of it. The only issues I had with this book is that in some places it seemed like some things were moving way to fast and I would have liked to experienced some of what happened as it did during the time it did instead of being fast forwarded over. And one other thing I wasn’t too sure on is that it seemed like there was questions left in the air unanswered…. I would go into details, but truthfully if I did that then I really would spoil the book and I would hate to give things away.
Other than that I do think that this was good read, the characters were interesting as well as the plot. I’m interesting in seeing what else Kendall plans on writing next, and I’m hoping it will have that wow factor that I love looking for in books.
When Lexington finished college and headed to New York to go and pursue his dream and achieve his dream, he had no idea what was going to happen in the upcoming years, but after leaving everything behind him, his first love, his mother and friends to start fresh he never thought to look back at what he might be missing. So when his life changed and he had the option to keep his unplanned daughter (Grier), he took it, he went ahead and decided to raise her on his own. Now fast forward to his daughter being 2-years-old and he is doing everything he can to help provide for her but also work too, what he didn’t realise is that his whole life was going to change with one phone call from his mom. Now with his mother being terminally ill, he decides the best thing for him would be to move back home so that both him and his daughter can spend as much time as they can with his mother…. But with him needing the help with looking after Grier so that he can balance work and being there for his mom, he turns to the one person who he left behind, whose heart he broke…. Will Corrigan be able to put the past behind them so that he can have the support he needs???
