Just wow… I honestly don’t know how Emma Hart does it, but this book is so different from her other books. Yes, it’s still a romantic comedy but with a twist, a festive Christmas twist.
But honestly Emma has done an amazing job once again, I literally fell in love with the story and the characters from the very first page. It had everything you could ever want, the drama, the festive spirit, the craziness, but it all ties together pretty well, but the best part was the whacky relative which always makes the story that much more funnier.
This story helps put you in the holiday spirit because you can’t help but get so caught up in the story, plus Quinn is such an hilarious character as she appears all hard and unamused on the outside but loves things on the inside but doesn’t like showing her true self considering most of the time things don’t always work out the way you want them too, but in her eyes it’s better to be prepared for the worst just in case.
I honestly thought that the way Emma wrote Quinn she did a great job because she’s so different to her other characters, but still, it works well, and you can’t help but love her for the way she is. Plus, with everything that’s going on at home, you just end up feeling for her as this year is a lot different for her than normal and she’s having to take on a lot more responsibilities than she’s used too. But still I love the sass from her as she made the plot just that more fun.
I loved everything that happened in this book and honestly couldn’t fault it. I thought that the chemistry between Quinn and Nicholas was hilarious and that their banter was off the charts. You can’t help but fall in love with Nicholas even though he was pretty quiet about his own life, but still it was still amazing and worth every minute.
I am super excited for what else Emma writes as her books are just that gripping, but still if you’re looking for a good Christmas read, then this would be perfect for you.
The last thing that Quinn wants to do is go ahead and be in charge of the family grotto, but with her dad ill with the flu and her mom is looking after him, her sister so pregnant and milking it so that she can get out of helping or even doing anything for herself, then you have Jazzy who is driving everyone insane with her singing, and then you’ve got her grandad who’s idea of getting through the holidays is to drink spiked eggnog, she’s got no choice. What makes it even worse is that she now needs to find a replacement Santa otherwise they won’t be able to open the Grotto…
However, when Nicholas turns up, Quinn honestly can’t believe that so many years later he’s walked back into her life. With no other choice, Quinn has to go ahead and hire Nicolas to be the Santa for them, but will there be problems for them, or will the Grotto go off without a hitch??
What’s the reason for Nicholas’ sudden reappearance and what’s he hiding from Quinn??
Will they be able to get over what happened in the past???
