I loved reading the first book in this series as Avery is such an amazing, intriguing character, so I was super excited to dive into this next one. Evie Hart has done another amazing job with this book and I honestly couldn’t help but feel that this book had the same characteristics as the Hollywood Files Mysteries series and I loved those books, you just can’t get enough of these characters. Evie knows what readers want and isn’t afraid to venture into different territories to produce an incredible book. I love anything about Witches and Avery is the perfect Witch you could want to read about. I love her wit, charm and the fact that she’s so powerful she doesn’t even realise what she’s capable of. I’m excited to see what happens next because I love the dynamics between Avery and Dax, you never know if she’s ever pleased to see him or if she just wants to punch him…. Don’t get me wrong, the chemistry is there, it’s just a matter of time before they both realise they want each other. I have no idea what Evie has planned next, but I’m sure it’ll be exciting.
Things have settled down in Haven Lake and thanks to Avery’s meddling Aunts, they’ve roped her into helping out with the History Tour that’s happening with the Festival….. For weeks she’s been learning all about the towns history, but really she’d much rather be training and mastering her new magic that she’s now discovered.
It’s the start of the Festival and the History Tour that she’s been roped into leading is all getting underway, she’s finding that telling the people in the tour all about the towns history is actually pretty interesting. All seems to be going well, until they get to the graveyard…… With one dead shifter girl and not from the tow, Avery finds that things are about to get a lot more trickier….. Everyone being on lockdown and unable to leave Haven Lake, will Avery be able to find out who the killer is or is the town set to be in big trouble?
