I had read the first book in this series last year and I have been anxious to catch up with the next book to see what happens next. I was hooked with the story from book one and after reading this one I have to say that this one was pretty amazing. I wasn’t expecting this book to be as amazing as it was, if anything I have to say that this book was a lot better than the first one. Yet after reading the two, I can see that Belinda White’s writing has improved a lot with this second book and I’m honestly excited to keep reading the series. This book shocked me massively, I wasn’t expecting all the twists and turns that were in there to have happened but honestly they were all incredible. I really did feel for Amie as it’s clear that she’s going through a lot and now a huge surprise is thrown on her when she ends up helping out her familiar (Arc), so as you can imagine it’s a lot for her to take on. Honestly, I couldn’t fault this book and loved every second of it. I’m ready to jump into the next one to see what happens next as it’s only getting more exciting by the book.
I would highly recommend that if you’ve not read this series yet, to give it a try as for all you know you may discover a new author who’s work you’ll just love.
Amie is still the black sheep in her family, but for now with Opie (her best friend) freezing her out after the whole revealing her magic to him she’s just about coping. Although, she’s got a lot on her plate considering she’s just found out her familiar (Arc) is actually wanted for murder in another town over…. But being the good person she is, she is determined to help him get to the bottom of the case and help clear his name. However, when she goes to speaking with one of his family members, things take an interesting turn when she’s invited for family dinner. With secrets being kept from one another and everyone desperately trying to clear Arc’s name, how will things go? Also, will they be able to figure a way to set Arc free of being Amie’s familiar and if so will she still be able to use magic or will have been drained of it completely?
