I honestly have no idea how Jessica Wayne does it, but this series is just incredible. Ever since we was first introduced to Fearghas you can’t help but wonder what his story is, why he’s never done anything more than just stake out Eria’s establishment, but still the fact that Jessica has finally given us his story is just amazing. The ideas that she comes up with are always so surprising and I never see any of them coming, but still it shows how talented of a writer Jessica is.
No matter what happens Jessica is able to get people reading her work, just by the simple fact that the stories she writes are just that gripping people can’t help but want to see what she does to her characters. She’s able to get all types of people reading her work and I love that about her.
This time has been no different, if anything I’m just in awe of her as she’s able to keep us guessing with this series and the fact we’re able to get a closer look at Fearghas and Eria’s lives is pretty impressive.
You can’t help but want things to work out with these characters as it’s clear that they’ve both been suffering for so long, but whilst that’s the case, they do actually help each other, it’s literally just the case of getting each of them to see through all the layers. Yet, Jessica can never make things simple, but still where’s the fun in that… nope, instead she will happily put us and her characters through torture and whilst it’s worth it for us to begin with, we can’t help but feel all of the emotions that her characters feel.
Fearghas is a good guy, the best Fae if anything, yet still he is out there trying to deal with the fact his unhinged sister is trying to break him, figure out who’s tormenting Eria at one of her establishments and also with the fact the Siren he loves and is mated to won’t see past what they both feel. It’s understandable for why he’s thinking the way he is, the last thing he wants is for anyone of his family and friends to get hurt or worse lose them for good, but trying to get the upper hand on his sister isn’t easy, but as from the previous books it’s clear that Sheelin thinks that this is just one big game.
I’m in awe of Eria as she is such a powerful Siren, has been through a lot and whilst after what happened to her she tries her hardest to show that she has nothing to worry about, she still feels everything inside and it guts her. I’d love for her to be happy, to be able to be with Fearghas as it’s clear he means something to her, but still Jessica isn’t going to be nice about things, instead she’s going to play with our emotions and try to make us hate her for all that she does to her characters.
Honestly, I loved every minute, but as always Jessica loves to leave us on a cliff-hanger, I have no idea what she has in store next, but I have a feeling it’s going to be pretty evil but heart-breaking at the same time.
I can’t fault the story, and I just want more. So I’d highly recommend giving this a try, but then again if you’ve been reading from the beginning like I have, you’ll want to see their story as things aren’t calming down any time soon.
The battle should be over, things should have settled for everyone, but clearly after being outted months ago, Fearghas and the gang have not had an easy time. It seems when they win one battle, another one is just decides to pop out at them.
Sheelin should have died in the last battle they all had, but clearly she managed to get away, now that she’s vanished from sight, it’s getting to everyone as it’s clear she’s up to something. Fearghas knows that it needs to end because there’s no telling what she’ll do next, but when she decides to pay him a visit so that she can play with his mind, he makes it his own personal mission to find her and kill her for good… but what he doesn’t realise is that she is one step ahead of him every time. With all that going on, there seems to be a flow in supernaturals getting killed all over Billings, but with having no clue as to who is feeding the information to the humans, it seems that they’re looking at loose threads.
Eria is rattled when she realises someone is calling up her one establishment and is leaving messages for her, but what baffles her so much is that no one but her can hear the message that’s there. Clearly rattled, she finally brings everyone in the loop, but that only send Fearghas into overdrive.
With time running out, Rainey handing in her badge for the force and Sheelin going even further on her vengeance to break Fearghas, will they all be able to figure out how to stop it all or is it the case that everything is a coincidence???
What happens when Fearghas and Eria’s relationship steps over a line that shouldn’t have been crossed?? Will they ever be friends again or has everything set to fall apart???
