It's been a few months since I last read something written by Hazel Kelly, so when I saw that she was going to be releasing a brand new book, well what can I say..... I was seriously looking forward to it, I already could tell from the name of this book that this was going to be a completely different book from the ones that she has written previously and even though when you read through this book you could see a few characters from Club Abbott but it was completely different to anything that I have ever read of hers and being honest it was amazing. Don't get me wrong normally I would think that a stepbrother/sister relationship would be awkward but for some reason in this book it works out so well.
I seriously loved Jenny and Ethan as for both of them things hadn't exactly been easy for them. They have both has serious crushes on each other for as long as they could remember, however there is just one slight problem Jenny's mom and Ethan's dad got married to each other when Jenny was 15, so you can see how that would turn out. I feel bad for both Jen and Ethan because they want to be together but they can't as it's forbidden as they are technically related, however they both keep their feelings for each other to themselves. Ethan is only 18 when he leaves his hometown, he is confused about his feelings for Jen but tries his hardest to get away so that he isn't tempted by her or doesn't have to be in control of his dad. However he thought that he has gotten away from everything until a few years later Jen appears on his doorstep.
Jen knows for a fact that her feelings for him haven't gone, and she tries her hardest to keep them to herself, she knows that Ethan has never been the best stepbrother but she can't help but feel like a burden when she turns up in the town he lives in for an audition in a big theatre production. However it seems that they will be walking all over eggshells, but when he offers to help her rehearse, things change between them. Will they both be able to give in for what they both want or are they going to not do anything because it would be awkward for both them and their families. Honestly I loved the chemistry that was happening between them both because it was so exhilarating, and it made you just want to read more of what was happening. Honestly though this is such an amazing read and you can see how much amazing Hazel's writing gets each time. You should pick up this great read as it's such a great one.
