As each book gets announced or I read in this incredible series by Jessica Wayne, I can’t help but feel like I’m part of this series, but instead of looking in from the side, it’s me as the main characters. Jessica manages to get you that captivated and gripped with the story, and I love how each book has developed. You can’t help but be intrigued by each book as you never know what’s going to happen, what challenges the characters are going to be going up against, but that’s all part of the fun. This time the cover intrigues you all that much, but that’s most likely due to the fact that this is more colourful and stands out a hell of a lot than the others, but even still I love how they all fit together.
I’ve been wondering what would happen with Ridley as it’s clear he’s hurting but at the same time it’s clear he’s lonely but he’s struggling to come to terms with everything when it comes to Rachel.
You can’t help but feel for him and just wish that everything will work out for him, but as Rachel likes making choices for herself your heart kind of breaks a little because she’s had no choice in how the rest of her life plays out for her.
I loved every minute of this book and it’s clear that as each book Jessica writes, her writing just is incredible and improves (even though it really doesn’t need to), I’m super proud at how far she’s come with her writing, and I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of this series or with her books in general as I know I’m never going to stop reading her work.
If you didn’t already have a favourite Fae up to this point, then I have a feeling that this book will make you decide between the two.
The last thing Ridley was expecting was to mate with a human, so when it became apparent that he had no choice in the matter, he just did what he did best… act like an ass….
Whilst Rachel has made it clear that she’s not into getting into anything with him, Ridley can’t help himself when he sees that Rachel gets killed, so instead of allowing her to stay dead, he rushes to go and get Rachel’s soul back, but it costs him.
Now with Rachel trying to come to terms with what she is, she can’t help but not want to be anywhere near Ridley as he was the one that took away her choices.
Yet, what she doesn’t realise is that there is more to the bond than she realises… Will she ever see the good in what Ridley did and actually give him a chance???
Or will she not last long enough considering there’s still the dark Fae lurking about???
