I’ve read everything that Brooke O’Brien has ever written and I’ve loved every second of it.
When I found out that she was going to be going back to Arbor Creek, I honestly was so happy as I’ve missed that place. However, I also know how much of an impact this series has on Brooke, you can tell from her writing alone that this series is hard for her because it relates so close to home, but also because her passion shines through the words too.
The fact that you get to see a couple of old faces from her Heart’s Compass series I was beyond thrilled.
I loved how Corbin was so much like his father, Callum. You can tell that both Ellie and Callum did a great job at raising him and his two sisters. I couldn’t help but fall in love with him as he is essentially every girls ideal guy, he’s hot, caring, knows how to please a woman and just generally is so sweet. If I could have him in real life, then that would make life so much more better for the good.
I thought that Haelynn was such a strong character, she’s been through a lot and you can’t help but be in awe of her because she’s doing such an amazing job at raising her son Huxton.
The one thing that I would to have had more of, is to know what tipped her ex to treat her the way he did. He treated her so badly that she had to escape and whilst he was determined to prove to her that she was his, it would have been nice to have known his motives.
I can’t fault the story, I thought it was pretty deep and emotional and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters.
I honestly would recommend that you give this book a read because Brooke’s work always touches you when you least expect it, plus she is super talented and I can’t help but love her work.
Haelynn thought she could have it all, she had a husband, an amazing place to live, her husband provided for her and she had the most adorable child going. Nothing could be more perfect, however things changed overtime and instead of being in such a happy family, she ended up getting hurt, abused and it just wasn’t safe for her anymore. After finally making the choice that she needs to do better for her son, she ends up packing up and moving to Arbour Creek.
It’s so peaceful and magical and she can’t help but think that it’s going to be the perfect place to raise Huxton on her own.
She’s in for a surprise when she lands a job with her neighbour and on the first day of it she can’t help but wonder what is going to be in store for her… but when her eyes land on the hot, sexy stranger (Corbin), she knows she’s in for a treat.
With this amazing heat and chemistry pouring between the two of them, will anything happen or is it just for the photo shoot???
What will happen with her ex??? Will he leave her alone or is he determined to prove her wrong??? Will moving to Arbour Creek be the right choice in the end, especially when secrets start being revealed???
