It seems like it’s been a while since I picked up one of Sara Ohlin’s books and I don’t know why it took me so long to pick up this book but I’m so glad that I have now as I loved it.
Sara just seems to know what readers want without going ahead and asking and I just love the stories that she puts out there. This book has been released a good while and even still you can see that Sara has such a talent and it shows in her writing, I honestly am amazed with each book I read of hers.
I loved Ellie and Jackson, Sara did really well when it came to picking them and giving them their stories and characteristics. I could relate to Ellie in a way as some of what she’s been through I’d gone through too and honestly, it’s not an easy thing when it comes to packing up and starting over. I felt for her quite a bit because she didn’t trust easily, and she was scared of letting new people in.
I loved everything that Sara did, she had me completely gripped and hooked on the story from the minute I started reading until the end. She also managed to surprise me with the events that took place and it just made me love the story even more.
I honestly can’t fault anything that Sara has written as it was clearly well thought, planned and executed and I’m excited to see what else happens in this series as just from this book alone I’m excited to read more about the other characters as they were pretty amazing.
I’d recommend giving this book a try because Sara always writes with such powerful emotions, and you will just end up being gripped just like I was with this one.
Ellie doesn’t trust easily, after suffering through a horrific childhood she finally escaped the minute she could and never looked back. Now that she’s made a life for herself and her dream of owning her own veterinary practice is going well she couldn’t be happier, however her world ends up getting turned upside down when it becomes apparent that everyone in the community is set to be turfed out as all of their buildings have just been bought and the people in charge want to demolish everything and turn it into a millionaire project.
Jackson doesn’t realise that his plans will interfere with a lot of people’s lives, so when he decides to give Ellie the chance to convince his mind about the project, he can’t believe what he’s saying.
To Ellie’s dismay she finds her apartment flooded one night and Jackson decides to take matters into his own hands. Will these two be able to find a way to meet in the middle and will Ellie be able to save everyone’s businesses and her home?
Will Jackson be the one who puts Ellie’s demons to rest???
