After getting swept away reading Sara Ohlin’s first book, Handling The Rancher, I was extremely excited to see what would happen next in the series and given that it’s about all three brothers and they have their own stories to tell I had a feeling it was going to be a pretty interesting read. Yet again, Sara managed to sweep me into her magical world and it felt like I was right there in Graciella.
I don’t know how she does it, but it felt like I was right at home with this book and I loved every minute that I was able to read.
It’s clear that Sara has a huge passion for writing and it’s clear that she loves cooking as she’s incorporated it into her writing and it’s great getting to experience what the characters are either eating or the feelings that the guys seem to get from watching their women eat. I really enjoyed getting to know Lily’s story and my heart broke for her because she’s gone through such a lot in her life and some of it hasn’t exactly been easy on her, so I can feel the hurt, the anger, the confusion and the loss at when she registers that Turner is back. But I do love her wit and the fact she’s not afraid to hold anything back, unless Turner is involved and then you get to see what it’s like with her guards up and how vulnerable she actually is.
I honestly couldn’t fault this book as it just wraps you up into the story once you start.
It’s a whirlwind of adventures and opportunities in this book, but eve3rything blends well together and I’m extremely excited to see how things play out in the next one as the first two have just been incredible.
I’d recommend reading this series as Sara doesn’t disappoint and you’ll end up feeling right at home once you start.
It’s been around 12 years since Turner left his home and the family farm, and even though he knows that his father is no longer around, he just can’t seem to face the music. After shouting at his secretary for what seems like forever, he ends up getting told he needs to go on a vacation and the only way that he’ll be able to find himself and stop with the running on hardly any sleep is if he goes home and puts the past to rest. While he hates that he’s being forced into it, deep down he knows he’s got to as the shame and the hurt still lingers and he feels so guilty for running away to try and escape it all and leaving the pieces left to his brothers.
Once he arrives back, he’s taken back by the worker who’s outside the Theatre in the small town and is ready to go report them to their boss until he’s put in his place by the most stunning woman he’s ever laid eyes on. However, what shocks him even more is that she seems to know a hell of a lot about him and parts of his past, yet he can’t place who she is.
Once he learns the truth, he does everything he can to be there for her, be her friend, show her that she’s got someone who she can rely on… but with Lily still lingering in the past, and knowing that he’s most likely a heartbeat away at leaving everything behind and heading back to Berlin, will she be willing to let him past her walls and allow him to know why she despises him so much???
Will Turner ever be able to fight the ghosts that he has at the family home or will he try and outrun them once again????
