I honestly don’t know how Brooke Summers does it… This series is just epic and I just fall in love with the characters and stories each time.
Brooke’s writing is so gripping that you can’t help but be swept into what’s happening, once you get a taste you need to keep reading. Her writing improves with each book even though she’s already talented, plus it shines through her writing that she’s got a passion for it.
I loved that this book was Denis’ story, it’s clear that there was a lot going on in his life from the previous books, but even still it was great getting to experience it through his eyes as he’s been a major part since the beginning.
Plus I was eager to see what would happen with Zoe considering in the past three books all I’ve wanted was to either give her a slap or hopefully be killed, but of course Brooke likes throwing curveballs at us. Either way, I loved the outcome because truthfully it was needed after the way Zoe just didn’t give a damn when it came to her children and Denis.
I hated that the kids and Denis had to suffer for as long as they did, but still the journey that they went through was such a heart-breaking but powerful one, yet I understand why Brooke did it the way she did. It’s clear that they all need some love and to be happy in life and this book does actually test them all, I just loved how Brooke went about it.
I honestly can’t fault this book, everything just worked and I loved the outcome, although I’m excited to see what happens next as it’s clear the series isn’t over yet and there’s more to come from this family considering it just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
I do think that Callie was such an interesting character, she was strong and she was doing well with life, so the fact that she was attracted to Denis made my heart swoon because they were just perfect for each other, even though there was complications in the way.
I just can’t fault Brooke for anything, and I’m just so happy that I was able to give this book a read.
If you’ve not had chance to do so, I’d recommend going ahead and trying it now because it’s just that gripping.
Zoe has been a pain for Denis ever since she managed to trap him into marriage, whilst he tried to love her, be there for her, give her everything she wanted, she still made life difficult so in the end he just stopped trying.
It’s been at least 10 years since he last even touched her, so he knows for a fact that three of his kids aren’t even his, but he won’t give them up because he loves them all equally. Time is running out and whilst Denis has still got her around, he knows he needs to hurry up and find the memory stick that has the footage of his one son on that could cause him a world of pain and then he can finally be free… but Zoe is making it difficult.
However, Denis ends up getting sidetracked by the beautiful, intelligent Callie. He can’t believe how incredible she is and he just wants to claim her, but he knows there’s a lot at stake.
Will Denis be able to free of Zoe and make it known to the world that Callie is his or is drama set to unfold?
Will his kids ever be happy or will their mother just keep doing everything she can to keep making them feel small about themselves???
