No matter what Bella Emy writes, I always end up loving her books, she’s just got that talent when it comes to stories. Every now and then she manages to get my eyes to tear up, and she managed it with this book. It’s not often I get to the verge of crying, so you can tell just from that alone that she did a great job at telling this story.
A lot takes place in this book, and I love how you end up being so connected to Lexi, she may have grown up with money, but at the same time she never took anything for granted. You could tell she was a real genuine girl and didn’t let money take over everything, unlike some people do when they are surrounded by money. I love how she was humble and was caring when it came to certain things, especially with Kalen. I could understand her hurt, her pain and the anger years later after what happened, if she felt like it didn’t matter and was generally okay with it, then I’d be thinking she must be crazy because sometimes it’s okay to feel angry, hurt and hatred.
Lexi ends up going through so much, but it makes her a better person. I just loved reading about her, and I was so connected to her.
I honestly can’t fault this book, Bella did a great job and I just loved every minute of it. I would seriously recommend giving this a read.
Back when Kalen and Lexi were in high school, they were high school sweethearts, nothing could stop them from loving each other and wanting to just ignore everything and be together. They were so in love, or so Lexi thought that when Kalen one day upped and vanished without a trace, Lexi couldn’t help thinking that it was just one big mistake and shouldn’t have had anything to do with him to begin with.
After pushing her feelings aside for him, she does her best to move on with her life, and now years later when she’s vacationing just before opening up her lounge, the last thing she expected to see what the boy who broke her heart… however he’s no boy, he’s all man now. What will happen, will she be able to push the past to the side?? What will become of the truths that get revealed??
