Cassidy Summers is a complete new author to me and honestly, I’m so happy that I got to stumble upon her work. She is clearly a talented writer and she had me hooked on this series from the very first page. I was eager to keep reading and each time I had to put the book down I was honestly gutted and kept counting down until I could pick it up again to continue from where I left off. When I was reading through, every now and then I noticed that it felt similar to the Vampire Acaedmy books, however what I found as I kept reading that this book was similar with some elements but honestly this book was incredible. If anything, I thought that this was a hell of a lot better than Vampire Academy, I know that others will think differently, but after reading this book for myself, I think that Cassidy has so much talent especially if she can write above the levels of Richelle Mead. I was honestly shocked and in awe of what Cassidy produced with this book and I’m super excited for the next book. I also love how Bianca had to work her way up to get what she wanted to do in her senior year at The Guard, it shows that she has dedication and isn’t afraid to let the guys be ahead of her. Overall, I think that the way Cassidy wrote this book was honestly perfect and I can’t find anything that I don’t think worked. I have a feeling that the next one is only going to get more amazing and juicy.
I would honestly recommend that you give this book a read, to take a chance on a new author because this book is truly incredible.
Bianca is in her final year at The Guard, and she is excited for this final year. She’s been prepping her whole life for this, and being able to do Combat Training as her chosen Supernatural electives means the world to her. She’s happy that she gets to share a room with her best friend Jacinta yet again, so this makes her senior year all the more better. She couldn’t ask for a more better start to the year….. or so she thinks.
The first day of the new semester and she ends up bumping into a really hot guy and pours his coffee all over him…. Whilst she has no idea who he is, her morning catches up to her the minute she walks into her last class of the day (Combat Training) and sees the guy who she poured coffee over… When seeing that she is the only girl in her class, will she be able beat them/ keep up with them or has she been wasting her time the last year in a field that she may not be strong enough in?
