I’ve read a couple of Sierra Hill’s books and I’ve only read one other book in the Cocky Hero Club series and from what I’ve read I’ve enjoyed each of them. I was excited to find out that Sierra was going to be contributing one of her incredible stories to this series.
This book was so much different to what I’ve read of Sierra’s and I thought that Sutton was such an intriguing character. She is so sweet, naïve but adorable. She is an interesting character and I thought that she had so much more to offer, but instead she kept running back to Miles and waiting for him.
Miles for me really did live up to the name of the book, he really was stuck up and honestly he didn’t seem to care about Sutton’s feelings. All she was trying to do is the job she was being paid to do and just be a nice person to him considering he lived next door to her, but no matter what he kept pushing her away and didn’t treat her with the respect she deserved even though she was just being nice to him all the time.
Overall, I honestly thought that some of the things weren’t exactly fitting for the story, I just found that the emotions and moods that Miles seems to go through wasn’t normal, it made no sense that one second he literally can’t stand the thought of having any form of romantic relationship with Sutton unless it’s just meaningless sex, but then the next minute he’s showing off this sweet side that he’s never shown before… For me, it just doesn’t work.
Otherwise, I do think it was a good read and I would recommend giving this a read if you’ve been enjoying the books in the Cocky Hero Club Series.
Sutton is trying to save up money so that when the time to go back to college comes she’ll be able to find a new place for her to live in, and the perfect opportunity arises when she gets the offer for a live in dig sitting position for the summer. She jumps at it, but only being there 24 hours and she stumbles into some trouble… with the fire alarm going off, she has no idea where to go considering she is so new to the building, but just as she is about to try and find her way out of the building, the last person she expects knocks on the door… Miles. The very same Miles that whose sister she was best friend with years ago… They’ve come along away since the last 7 years and they’ve got a complicated history, but with him not realising who she is, is she setting herself up for disaster by trying to get to know him… Will she keep it a secret of who she actually is or is she set to reveal all with the possibility of him hating her???
