It was great getting to dive back into this world by Melanie Harlow and after reading Winnie and Dex, I was intrigued to see how things would plan out for the rest of the kids in the series and honestly I have to say that it was great getting to experience things from Coco and Mia’s kids as both Mia and Coco were best friends and now that their kids are grown up it was great seeing how much they’d grown considering they both came from such loving families. Yet Ellie couldn’t stand Gianni and I think it made the chemistry between the two just that more gripping and a hell of a lot hotter. It did take me a little while to get into the story and at times I just couldn’t exactly focus on the story due to the fact that when it was little flash backs I much would have preferred to have it in a different type of font so that it was clear it was a flash back, having it so that it seemed like it was part of the paragraph or that scene just didn’t work for me as I like knowing it’s not currently happening in that time.
But I did enjoy getting to see how much Ellie had grown as she was such a witty but charming character in the previous book.
The one thing that I loved more than anything though was getting to see how Mia and Coco were doing now that things had changed and both of their families had expanded, I have missed them both as I fell in love with Mia back when I first read Frenched and Coco was just as hilarious too in her book, but still I love how Melanie has managed to intertwine her worlds into one.
Overall I think that it was a good story and it had everything you could want in a book, but I do feel like at times it was a little rushed.
If you enjoyed the first book, I’d recommend giving it a try as it’s an interesting read, plus you can’t help but love the heat between Gianni and Ellie.
Ellie and Gianni grew up together, and Ellie honestly can’t stand him due to how he treated her growing up and the last thing she wants to deal with is having to see Gianni every day, but the fact that he now works with her, she’s not happy as it still brings up memories of how he treated her all those years ago and it seems that all he likes to do is ruffle her feathers.
However, Ellie has such an important event that she knows she needs to turn up for but Gianni can’t help but try and steer her off the path, whilst he is looking out for her he can’t resist winding her up about it. However, knowing how bad the weather is going to be and how much snow they’re going to get, he knows he can’t let her go off on her own with the possibility of her getting stuck/stranded. So being the kind person that his parents taught him to be (even though he used to cause so much trouble) he goes ahead and offers to drive her up there so that she doesn’t get stuck or stranded.
But things don’t exactly go the way she plans them too when it becomes apparent that the event Ellie is hosting is more bothered by Gianna being there than the actual wine that she’s got with her.
After having such a disastrous time, all Ellie wants is to go back home and just forget this night happened, but when the roads become too much for Gianni to drive back they end up getting stranded and have to find somewhere to stop for the night, luckily they find somewhere but the only option is the one room with one bed, not having a clue how long they’re going to be stuck, they decide to call a truce, but how long it lasts for is anyone’s guess.
Will they be able to keep the truce going or will it fail to last??? What happens when Gianna reveals the truth about what actually happened back at that party years ago???
